The weekend and logic loops took a while to pass. So now we have a readMore/Less plugin with four display options + a couple of colour settings. Sorted.
https://bodhinyanarama.net.nz/temp/read ... r-less.zip [4kb]
One of those display options - redirect on click - should not be necessary. So, have you fixed the 'white page' problem?
Either way, try the plugin and let me know how it works for you.

Update
So when I am using the editor to create or edit blog posts, I sometimes get the white '404 page not found' page when I hit Save. It doesn't always happen when I only try to add the page break / read more link in blog posts. It also happens when I paste text into the editor.
So .. I am trying to update my about page with a block of copied text. When I copy and paste it into the editor and hit Save, it shows a '404 page not found' page. But, when I type into the editor the same line of text and hit Save it saves fine.
It seems to be only when I copy text and paste it into the editor is when it shows the 404 white page.
I think this is something to do with the blog editor itself some how not coding the characters right, maybe? It wants to throw an error but the page is not found, maybe? Folder permissions issue, maybe?
Arfa, Thank you for your replies. I am really wanting to have the factory default 'Read More' page break work before I try and rely on a plugin. This 'pagebreak' function is built into the script and should work as intended.

Also, as I try to make further blog posts using the image function it goes to a 404 page not found. I am trying to add an image inside the blog post but it will not allow it. When I add the cover image for a post it works, but not when I want to add an image inside the blog post.

If you are pasting in 'stuff' and getting an error then there is something wrong with the stuff. The editor is fine. One possibility is to paste in 'code mode' as there may be odd html or some such. But I suspect that is not the issue.
I think I can be 98? % maybe 99% sure that it is something you are doing.
Give some time to comparing the pasting that works OK and that which doesn't. Keep a log of txt files. There is a reason - and I figure only you can source it.

It appears this issue is now resolved, thank goodness.
I contacted my host about the issue and they adjusted a setting and now I can place images inside posts AND use the page break function.
YAY! Now I can get bluditing

Apparently my host had placed security mods on my server. When I told them what was going on they removed the mods. It was nothing I did. Just a server security setting.arfa wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 9:02 pm That's great.
What was the solution? It would be helpful to know how you (your host) resolved it. Such information can be added to the shared knowledge base.
